The Telegraph's commercial film team is a tight-knit production facility creating commercial branded content and editorially-led sponsored content. The commercial film team have the opportunity for a Creative Filmmaker to join and create great work for a diverse portfolio of partners thanks to The Telegraph's varied, high quality content strands.

If you are a film creative with experience in developing high quality branded content (often story focussed) that resonates with audiences, we'd love to have you as part of the team.

Key responsibilities

Working with the Senior Creative Filmmaker to develop and prepare thorough and clearly presented treatments, storyboards, scripts, style frames and mood boards.
To work with commercial on developing and pitching briefs for new business centred around branded video content.
To develop and oversee projects in partnership with the Senior Creative.
To collaborate with a wider team, often across multiple projects at one time - sometimes involving large crews of both staff and freelancers.
A positive, collaborative attitude to problem solving and creative development.
Directing crews on set, on location and potentially filming yourself when necessary.
Ability to absorb and understand client briefs, asking relevant questions to ascertain the best possible solution.
Be adaptable across a range of content and genres, from presenter-led interviews to VFX-heavy conceptual work.
Have a good knowledge and interest in the advertising, marketing, media and communication industries, specifically media strategy and content marketing.
To feed in to treatments and production on editorially-led content which will be offered out for sponsorship.

Essential skills required for the role

Proven experience designing and executing video treatments to fit a brief and budget.
A positive, collaborative attitude. A good communicator who is open to moulding their initial concepts as a wider team.
Innovative filmmaker with experience in visual storytelling.
Creative flair and experience turning an initial concept into a brilliant piece of video output.
Highly organised with experience managing multiple projects and prioritising tasks to deliver high-budget projects successfully.
A collaborative team player who is interested in helping share their skills with others.
Full proficiency in Adobe CC, including non-linear editing.
Experience of the entire live action and motion graphics workflow from conception to final delivery.
Understanding of growing demand for commercial content but appreciation of editorial credibility for Telegraph platforms.
Understanding of difference between media and creative agency and The Telegraph's place as a media owner.
Able to take direction and work as part of a small, fast moving team.

Additional skills useful for the role

Experience with motion graphics, colour correction and ideally VFX and 3D (Cinema 4D).
Experience shooting on the Sony FS7 / A7s ii and Canon C100 Cameras and their work flow.
An interest in News, Politics, Travel, Lifestyle, Business, Technology or Personal Finance.
Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of the legal and health & safety considerations / limitations of the creative you are developing is a huge benefit.
Awareness of budget and ability to consider this limitation when developing creative / planning execution.
