Creative Director, Boom (part of ITV Studios)PermanentCardiffBoom is looking for an experienced creative with a proven track record in winning and delivering successful commissions to lead its network growth strategy. The role is to be based in Boom's Cardiff office with 1-2 days a week in London.Boom is part of ITV Studios and one of Wales' largest, indigenous production groups. Established in 1994, this multi-genre company produces over 400 hours of content annually for Welsh and UK broadcasters and employs c.250 staff. The Boom group also includes post-production facility Gorilla, animation studio, Cloth Cat, and Visual Effects/Motion Graphics company, BAIT. Part of the management team, the role will report into the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer and be the creative driving force and strategic leader behind Boom's network development in popular factual / factual entertainment for daytime and peak. You will further build Boom as a major Nations based production business, maximising the opportunities arising from its position as one of Wales' largest production companies.You will lead pitches to commissioners, and co-ordinate on-screen talent and creative teams at all stages of network development and production. You will manage the development budget, and be responsible for the company's interaction with UK and international broadcasters. This is a commissioner facing role that requires a high degree of autonomy and drive.You must have a strong track record in leading creative teams, managing on and off screen talent and have developed ideas and formats that have resulted in editorially and commercially successful commissions. Established relationships with key commissioning teams and a proven track record in network is essential.With highly developed pitching and 'selling' skills and experience, you will have a strong track-record in programme making and sound editorial judgement, along with an awareness of UK and global television trends and an understanding of target audience needs.We continue to work hard to make meaningful changes to make sure Boom continues to welcome diversity, celebrate individuality and support an inclusive working environment.Closing date for applications: Sunday 3rd March 2019
