The division brings together internal and external communications to advance the foundation's mission of a more equitable world. The Global Communications team is responsible for shaping internal and external use of foundation voice to protect the foundation's reputation and advance its priority advocacy and program objectives and ensure that employees are meaningfully connected to the foundation's mission and community. The team is responsible for comprehensive voice planning for foundation leadership and key spokespeople as well as driving engagement with media. The Europe, Middle East and East Asia (EMEEA) team is the "ambassadorial network" of the foundation operating out of offices in London and Berlin. In addition to the two offices, the team's country representatives are embedded in the political capitals of each major government donor and based in country (London, Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Stockholm, and Tokyo). As a team, we bring deep insights on the political landscape, media and public attitudes, and the foundation's ability to influence decision making on our issues to the rest of the foundation. Through our network of representatives and advocacy partners in these capitals, we advocate on behalf of our program teams to relevant decision makers to build support for our programmatic objectives. Our currency is the strength of our relationships with decision makers, our credibility as an effective partner co-investing alongside our donors, the depth of our political analysis and intelligence, and the influence of our co-chairs. Our ultimate objective in EMEEA is to secure sustained and/or increased funding for the foundation's key programmatic priorities as well as a supportive policy environment. This role works to both the Communication Division and EMEEA team and delivers both sets of objectives.Your RoleThis is a dynamic, diverse, cross-cutting job at the heart of a small, collaborative team. The Creative Content and Digital Producer will play a vital creative role, working hand in glove with the regional communications leads for EMEEA and the global communications team located in Seattle.You will work towards the following over-arching objectives:Stronger awareness among target audiences of key foundation policy positions.Supportive enabling environment to encourage increased political commitment to international development/global health.Strengthened communications partnership with government and other institutions.Strengthened profile of foundation local leadership among target audiences.Improvement in awareness of, trust in, and favorability towards the foundation.The position reports to Deputy Director, Communications, who is based in London.The postholder will be based at the foundation's London office, with semi-regular international travel, including to Seattle, where the foundation is headquartered.What You'll DoDevelop a strong understanding of the most impactful communication approaches and best partners to reach our audiences in priority countries (largely the UK, France and Germany) and you will drive innovative, and impactful content and digital strategies in each of these countries.Deliver the country/campaign strategies, including thinking creatively about how best to use the foundation's co-chair and leadership voices.Personally create content - including photography and editing social media packages - and source and develop partnerships with agencies to also work with you on this.Play a key role in developing and implementing the foundation 'brand' campaign launch in the UK - one of four pilot countries.Develop and lead a set of communications partnerships across the EMEEA region, in support of the foundation's global brand, as well as EMEEA's advocacy priorities and content for use on owned digital channels, paid and earned media.You will develop story concepts and produce/support the production of locally relevant digital content that will help deliver our advocacy objectives.Drive the digital and content communications planning to amplify these platforms, including to help organize events, engage partners and ensure the foundation has the most impactful channel distribution.Manage the digital strategy and channels of EMEEA leadership.Your ExperienceMasters or Bachelor's degree and experience in similar roles in creative content production, PR and communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.Experience and a strong track record in making and producing impactful photography, digital film-production, story-telling, and initiating and running campaigns.Experience working in a creative/communications role in non-profit/public health, government, communications agency, or private sector organization strongly preferred.Good understanding of the political, cultural and media contexts of the countries which the role will be responsible for, as well as general understanding of cultural sensitivities and nuances.Ideally some experience of grant-making and/or contract management.Experience with communications risk and reputation management.Demonstrable understanding and use of various tools and channels of communications within and external to the organization.Track record in staying at the forefront of the evolving landscape of various channels and distribution approaches, best practice campaigns, as well as the measurement and evaluation.Professional fluency in English, strong writing and presentation skills, and experience of working in a global/multi-lingual setting.Collaborative experience with a wide range of internal and external partners, specifically including digital partnerships.Other AttributesComfortable in a wide range of cultural, geographic and operational situations, demonstrating culturally sensitive behaviour with a diverse range of people and a deep commitment to development issues and high standards of personal integrity.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
