Why you should join us...

In order to support our award-winning continuing-drama Emmerdale, based in Leeds, we rely heavily on talented freelance Costume Dressers that we can engage, on a daily basis or on a longer-term assignment, to supplement our staff Costume department.

We are now looking for Costume Dressers to come on board for short-term contracts so if you have an interest in drama and have already worked in this capacity, then we would love to hear from you.

This role entails...

You will have to wash; iron; prepare and maintain costumes and will have a keen eye for detail. There is manual handling involved in this role, as you are required to frequently maneuver fully laden costume rails and carry costume stock and shoe-bags etc.

Ideally you will need to have gained some experience working as a Costume Dresser in TV or the theatre. Ideally you will hold qualifications in Textiles/Costume Design and be able to do costume alterations. Flexibility and adaptability is also very important to us as you will work with a variety of different teams and you will need to be able to work at a fast-pace in order to meet pressured deadlines. A driving licence is preferable as you will have to travel between our Studios and Location.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

- You must be able to work long-hours, in both studio and out on location, often in inclement weather conditions.
- Experience maneuvering costume rails, costume stock and shoe-bags in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to sew and carry out minor alterations to costumes.
- You must have a professional outlook especially around cast- confidentiality and discretion is an absolute must.
- You will have good IT skills, be organised and have great communication skills.
- Experience as a Costume Dresser in TV or Theatre.
