Cookery Researcher

A fantastic opportunity has now arisen to join our food department as a Cookery Researcher.

The This Morning team are looking for a Cookery Researcher with experience of working in a live studio environment. The successful candidate will be required to work within the busy food department at This Morning and be full of original ideas.

In this varied role, you will be involved in breaking down recipes to work for live TV, work with home economists and assist the Food Producer to deliver daily/weekly content both on location and for live broadcast. Being able to write briefs and organise and oversee screen tests for new talent.

The successful candidate will be a team player, understand how to build relationships, and effectively communicate with colleagues and external clients.

The ideal candidate will be keeping up to date with the latest news stories relating to food, chefs, or food trends and adapting accordingly to news stories at short notice.

You must be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and have a flexible approach to work as you will be working to a shift pattern which will include weekends and bank holidays.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

A minimum of three researcher credits - preferably on live, studio-based programmes and cookery programmes
Strong organisational and time management skills
Being confident in supporting the producers and making decisions
Demonstrable experience of supporting the producer with the day to day running of the busy food department
Ability to perform under pressure
A team player who can work effectively with different departments across the programme

Other things we're looking for (key criteria)

The right applicant will have a good understanding of recipes, seasonal ingredients and topical themes influencing how the nation wants to eat
Keeping up to date with the latest news stories relating to food, chefs, or food trends and adapting accordingly to news stories at short notice
Finding and booking chefs, building and maintaining positive relationships with talent and their management
