Content Producer

Birmingham

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Lead Producer, the Content Producer will help oversee the creation of content cut in BBC Three's Edit Hub in Birmingham. This role will work with Editing Assistant Producers, Researchers, and Editors to create innovative and compelling content for all BBC Three's platforms, to support a range of BBC3 titles.

You will work with the Lead Producer to optimise, plan and create new content around upcoming titles, helping to drive new audiences to BBC Three and awareness to our content.

You will also liaise with Commissioners and Execs to secure sign-off for cuts.

This role will take existing BBC three content from the in-house team and Indies and find new and unique ways of telling those stories, in different forms and formats, for a variety of platforms.

These include IGTV, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and the BBC Three website to support iPlayer publication and linear TV transmission. Working with the Lead Producer you will be across the BBC Three schedule, having an overview of what productions are in the pipeline and ensuring we hit our publishing deadlines.

You will also be expected to contribute to the development of new ideas and formats and to help nurture and develop a young team.

Are you the right candidate?

The ideal candidate will be able to think creatively about re-telling stories which entice and engage the BBC Three audience.

You will have strong editorial experience, a keen eye for detail, and a real flair for shaping narrative and telling stories through the edit, plus a natural understanding of what works on each type of platform for BBC Three and how best to optimise our content.

You must have the ability to reversion content, including long form and archived content, while maintaining the original narrative, balance and tone of the piece and upholding the BBC's editorial values.

You will be a strong communicator with the ability to quickly establishing effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior colleagues such as Commissioners. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital programming and the ability to manage and communicate changing priorities and workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
