Content Mastering Operator - Studios

London hybrid HYBRID

Job purpose

The Content Mastering Operator's responsibilities involve preparing source materials, performing Quality Control, and the creation of content for worldwide distribution. This may include the creation of materials for marketing, trailer and feature releases, and episodic distribution. All on behalf of the biggest studios and platforms in the entertainment industry.

The Content Mastering Operator will report to the Mastering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

DCP Encoding & Repackaging:

Creation of a wide variety of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs): Subtitled, Dubbed, 5.1, 7.1, Atmos, SMPTE and Interop
Creation of Subtitles and dubbing reference files
Edits for censorship purposes
Technical validation and troubleshooting
Creation of downstream deliverables
Simple audio edits and conforms
Spot checks and short-form QCs


Communication:

The role involves communicating with Account Managers to create the theatrical materials for film releases
Communication with other departments such as IO, Subtitling, GFX and QC is required to assist with troubleshooting problems that may occur in the field


Planning & Organisation:

Collaborating with other Digital Cinema Mastering Technicians to ensure that projects are delivered on time
Responsible for all admin related to completing orders

Requirements
Qualifications:

Must exemplify MPS's Core Values of Fun, Innovation, Time, and Trust
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Experience:

Prior experience in Post Production or Digital Cinema
Professional experience in using non-linear editing tools
Knowledge of video and audio codecs
Experience using R&S Clipsters
Skills & Knowledge:

An interest in Digital Cinema and its surrounding technologies
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Knowledge of the Digital Cinema Industry, aware of competitors and new technologies
Experience using a Linux environment and Terminal
