Content & Events Manager

Our marketing team is expanding. Last year we got to know our audience, defined our Brand and Marketing strategy, evolved our Identity and have some big plans in the pipeline for 2024 and beyond.

We want to differentiate ourselves in the car insurance market, and with our audience of 'new to the UK' and we believe offering specific customer benefits for this audience is a great way to do that.

This role will enhance this offering by creating virtual events, seminars and 121 conversations between our 'new to the UK' customers and experts to help them as they start their lives in the UK. That can be anything from helping with how to get on the road, visa advice and schools for their children. This will help to demonstrate that Marshmallow truly has these customers at the core of what we do, and help to create long-term relationships with our customers.

What you'll be doing

Project managing multiple end-to-end virtual events for customers. These will range in size from one-to-one meetings, smaller seminars/workshops and larger presentations
Develop project plans and define project tasks, timelines and resource requirements as needed, manage day-to-day event logistics, liaise with stakeholders to ensure tasks are on track and provide direction and support to enhance cross-functional work
Create event planning efficiencies and act proactively to mitigate any risks and reduce setbacks
Collaborate with creative teams to influence the creation of innovative, best-in-class customer-facing content, that will set us apart from the rest of the market and address the needs of our current customers (including design, video, and digital)
Manage technical aspects of the virtual such as webinars, video conferences, livestreams and ticketing
Manage event budget, ensure cost control and reconcile project invoices and event final cost reporting
Source and manage suppliers, Review and negotiate contracts, Identify new preferred partners and cost-efficient opportunities
Produce events from conception to completion, overseeing all aspects of planning, logistics, and execution
Directly oversee event set-up and execution of assigned events
Communicate regularly with senior project managers to provide updates on project status, identify risks, and seek guidance when needed

Who you are

Extensive experience as a content & events project manager for virtual events
Ability to manage workload in fast-paced situations and to handle various projects simultaneously
Good understanding of virtual event technology (virtual event & ticketing tools and system)
Ability to produce content for abstracts, presentations and copywriting and work with a creative studio to help bring your idea's to life
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and verbal)
Good knowledge of local event suppliers and strong negotiation skills
Strong working knowledge of Google tools and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, PPT, plus Photoshop/Illustrator
Flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the business

Have experience in creating virtual events from scratch and communicating their value to customers
Reflective and low ego. You're happy admitting when you don't know the answer or when you've made a mistake. You'll ask for support from your team and those around you to collaboratively find solutions
You are a self-starter who likes to take ownership. You are comfortable making decisions and learning from mistakes
