Our industry-leading digital content extends to concert live streams, podcasts, the most engaged Facebook page in UK radio and live sessions with the world's greatest classical artists. Our site editorial includes breaking news stories, listicles, explainers and socially optimised content designed to go viral.After a record-breaking 25th birthday year in 2017, our mission remains to take classical music to new audiences and to entertain and engage both new and existing fans of the genre.We need a digital content editor to sit at the centre of the online team and create the most engaging and inventive content possible for our audience of music-savvy enthusiasts and curious discoverers. You'll know the difference between a regurgitated story and an inventive new angle, and you'll be able to write with wit and sensitivity about classical music and the wider cultural world. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Managing Editor, you'll work within the digital editorial team to develop multiplatform content from initial ideas to execution and promotion - all in the distinctive Classic FM tone. Manage new content strands and provide boundless creative ideas to present the genre in new and inventive ways. Monitoring social and news feeds to ensure content is topical and timely Work with the wider programming, CRM, enterprise and commercial teams to create online content across the whole brand Promote commercial ventures, such as live events and record releases Evaluate all the above activities through the use of varied analytics tools, report back to the editorial team and make recommendations for future activityEssential skills/experience: Accurate writing/subbing Impeccable headline skills for multiple mediums (news stories, push notifications, social media posts etc.) Proven news sense Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-moving environment Excellent communication skills Deep knowledge of music and love of Classic FM. Ideally, you will either have studied music or played a musical instrument Experience of using various website CMS and related software including analytics tools, social media etcDesirable skills/ experience Experience of radio Journalism background Managing social media channels Understanding of SEO Video/audio editing
