Purpose of the role -
This role sits within the Creative Team reporting to the Senior Copywriter and is responsible for proposing and executing conceptual solutions that both express the brand and meet the brief objectives through different channels and mediums (print, in-store, digital, social and PR). The position is also responsible for protecting Aesop's distinctive tone of voice in external and internal communications, ensuring consistency of language, style and spirit, as well as delivering exceptional copy on global and regional campaigns, marketing collateral and cultural projects as required. Situated in a highly collaborative setting, it involves frequent liaison with Marketing, Design, Product and Digital teams, including staff in offices overseas.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to -
* Conceptualize and create copy content related to cultural partnerships-for instance, partnerships with literary or artistic foundations, artists, events and store openings of note; liaise with external parties as required
* Demonstrate understanding of marketing objectives and the ability to respond accordingly
* Partner with the Art Director and other Creative Team colleagues on the development of innovative concepts for Aesop global campaigns to drive the brief objectives.
* Working with the Product Team, concept and name bespoke products and kits, including the develop rent of product label and packaging copy
* Write pre-launch and launch copy and product descriptions for Aesop channels, including our eCommerce platform (product details, category and subcategory pages, product content films), SEO, social posts, press releases and CRM emails
* Seek and perform proofreading on all communications, upholding Aesop's regard for clarity and accuracy
* Map projects from territories to concept development and production, to campaign handover and execution (VM, digital and FA), to aid with communications and alignment through each stage
* Act as a custodian of the brand to enforce strong style guides-the use of Aesop tone of voice, grammar, stylistic nuances, etc.

Who we are looking for -
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a major in one or more of the following fields: advertising, literary studies, writing, journalism, cultural studies, media studies, copywriting
* Strong portfolio that includes conceptual ideas and executions, as well as long-form copy samples
* In depth experience working in a Creative Department
* Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; particularly in the context of digital communications
* A demonstrated understanding of the Aesop brand tone-in both copy and visuals
* Ideally, a deep knowledge of and passion for literature, the visual and performing arts and architecture and design.
* The ability to collaborate effectively with Art Directors, Designers and other Creatives and a collaborative mindset in general
* An awareness of cultural sensitivities in the territories in which Aesop operates
