Content and Design Assistant

Hackney, East London HYBRID

We have an exciting new fixed-term role at Hamlett Films, an award-winning production company of documentaries and dramas for the education sector. The position is for a Content & Design Assistant to work across an online Primary Maths project with a major commissioner, gaining creative and production skills and experience within a production office environment.

The job requires technical confidence across interactive platforms, and understanding of interactive storytelling. Technical and creative thinking are a must, as you will be shadowing our Illustrator and Graphic Designer, the Creative Director and Production Manager across related production tasks. This role would suit someone looking to get their foot in the door, with a particular interest in illustration and content design, within educational content production.

We are big believers in helping people to develop their careers, so we are looking for someone who is hungry for opportunities for career progression. You will be able to learn and develop, and add to your skill set within a professional production environment, working predominantly across educational content. This position is based on funding provided in order to increase diversity within the broadcast industry. Creating more opportunities for individuals from under-represented groups behind the camera, and to actively develop diverse off-screen talent through targeted initiatives. We would therefore encourage applications from individuals with skills or experience that can help contribute towards ensuring we maximise the diversity and inclusion of our coverage and content.

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DIVERSITY FUND APPLICATION.

Personal Qualities:
- Intelligent, enthusiastic, organised and proactive
- Able to prioritise well, problem solve and multitask without dropping the ball
- Creative thinker, imaginative and solutions focused individual
- Ability to work under time pressure and keep your cool
- Team player, adaptable and positive
- Professional and confident communicator, working with all levels of seniority and clients
- Eager to learn and continually improve the way you work

Experience:
This is not an entry level role, as we require some experience related to this industry. However, we are keen to offer this opportunity to someone who actively wants to develop their skills and understanding further, particularly across production design, in order to progress their career. A background and some experience in design such as graphics, illustration, fine art, time based media, photography would be beneficial.

Salary: dependent on experience
Contract length: the start date will be Monday 28th October for a minimum of 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension.
