Overview
This is a standalone role, although you will have the support of a PLC finance function as and when necessary. You will have responsibility for managing the company's finances and will be expected to have a hands-on approach to transactional duties. Your main responsibilities will be the timely production of management and production accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis, VAT returns and the preparation of year end accounts.
Someone who is use to running a finance function within a small business would be ideal for this position. Advanced Excel skills would be helpful.
You may be a QBE with a strong background in financial/management accounting or be a Part Qualified/Finalist seeking a role with direct reporting and more responsibility.
The successful candidate will be proficient in reconciling and producing invoices, management accounts and VAT returns; and will have strong communication skills. Experience within a media company could be advantageous.

Main duties include:Preparation of management and statutory accounts on the back of production accounts.
Preparation of production accounts and have a knowledge of the processes in film/tv production.
Prepare/assist in budgeting and production cash-flows.
Liaise with payroll, administer floats, expenses, purchase/sales ledgers etc.
Enter data onto Saga Line 50 (Purchase/Sales Ledger, Bank/Cash/Credit Card Payments & Receipts, Journals).
Checking, reporting and processing supplier invoices in line with the company's policy.
Checking, reporting and processing employee expenses in line with the company's policy.
Monthly bank reconciliation.
Raising and managing invoices and payment queries.
Managing petty cash.
Managing HR reporting: absence, holidays etc.
Undertaking VAT returns, registrations and exemption calculations.
Assist generally in the Production division and wider Group.
Key stakeholders: Financial Controller, Head of Production, Production Mangers & Legal Affairs.

Essential Criteria At least five years' accountancy experience within a financial management role.
Experience of preparing budgets, management accounts and end of year financial accounts.
Extensive experience and a thorough working knowledge of computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets.
Good verbal and written presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and on own initiative, within a team environment.
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Organised approach.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Sage Line 50.

Desirable Criteria A recognised accountancy qualification.
Broad commercial awareness - particularly in tv/film production.
Ability to develop new accounting systems and improve existing ones.
Hands-on experience of VAT compliance.
Experience of report writing.
Experience of preparation for year-end audit.
