Colour Grading Assistant

London

Wash is a boutique post production facility in Farringdon, London. We specialise in colour grading and VFX for commercials, music promos and feature length films.

As a Colour Grading Assistant you will be responsible for our Colour and VFX suites, and will assist and support our colourists and VFX artists. You will perform and oversee the conform and prep work, producing the deliverables from the grading suites and assisting our colourists with grades and client reviews. You will provide technical and workflow support to the Colourists, VFX Artists, and the other production staff and clients.

Responsibilities:

Provide operational and technical support to the Colourists and VFX suites.
Colour Grading Assistance - Conforming Files, loading projects, exporting deliverables
Edit/Flame Assist - Copying Files, Transferring Files, Database Backups, Project Backups
Managing Media
Ensure the documentation of projects is kept up-to-date
Keeping the Hard Drive Log up to date
Problem-solve and escalate any issue as required
In the event of problems or queries to be the main point of contact for the colourist and the client.
Colour and vfx projects out of hours and during quiet periods encouraged

Skills Required:

A Strong Proactive Work Ethic
A knowledge of DaVinci Resolve Ideal
Nuke/Autodesk Flame Experience a Bonus
Previous Experience in a Post Facility
Prior Assistant experience preferable
Knowledge of modern post production workflows, equipment and infrastructure
Understanding of information exchange formats, such as EDLs, AAF's, XMLs etc
In-depth understanding of video and audio codecs, compression techniques, metadata
Enthusiasm and motivation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
Flexibility and the ability to think on your feet in order to find practical solutions to logistical problems
Initiative and problem-solving ability
Team-working skills
The ability to network with a range of people (including directors, DPs, Producers, Creatives - among others)
The ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure
An understanding of the industry
