Wild Child Animation is looking for a CG Character Supervisor with creative talent and managerial strength to join the Wild Child Animation team!You will work closely with our Head of Real Time and Assets Supervisor to create on-brief characters for a variety of CG animation projects. Our ideal candidate is an experienced Lead looking to take a step up to a Supervisor position. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of character artists and riggers and will have experience managing research and development projects alongside supervising your team on ongoing productions. This role will also create and feed back on bids, allocate work across a busy department, spec pipeline tools working with software development teams, troubleshoot technical problems and maintain a high level of creative output, working with Production and other senior team members to deliver work within schedule and budget. You will have 7+ years of experience and have had previous roles in television or film animation where you have managed a team of 5 - 8 artists. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of technical understanding of rigging processes, as managing the CG Rigging department will fall under the remit of this role. We are looking for someone with experience developing department handover processes in conjunction with other Heads of Department. You should be comfortable diagnosing and developing solutions to technical problems and have experience working closely with animators across modelling and rigging and software developers across pipeline tools. Creatively we are looking for someone with experience modelling, texture and look dev for stylised characters - humans and creatures - and you will be able to advise across a variety of character related departments including CFX. Experience with Maya, Substance Painter and Photoshop are essential, plus comfort working with production trackers similar to FTrack. Experience with Unreal Engine would be beneficial but is not essential. Experience with Python and other languages would be beneficial but is not essential. Wild Child Animation is a hybrid studio based in Stirling, Scotland. We are very interested in hearing from Scottish-based candidates for this role, however we would also consider remote candidates with the right experience.
