Careers Event Producer

Our Board and Advisory Councils comprise committed senior industry leaders from across the screen sector - film, television, visual effects, animation and games - representing large and small organisations across the UK.

Role purpose:
As part of the ongoing business, the careers team organises, attends and hosts a variety of events to promote screen and creative careers. These include stands at career events, Open Doors events across the UK, boot camps and events and talks for young people and careers advisors.

This role is for an event producer to manage \and produce individual events across the portfolio and to evaluate these events and manage the event budgets. The role will be part of the careers team reporting to the Head of Careers and working closely with the Careers Manager.

The role will involve planning and managing events, including web postings, recruitment of delegates, budgets, and evaluation, manning stands at careers events, staffing and managing volunteers. The job will also involve managing key relationships with partners for events and research and outreach to bring a diverse audience to careers events.
The post holder will also be expected to support the wider careers team.
The team work across the UK and the job involves travel and overnights.

Key responsibilities:
• Producing individual Open Doors events in consultation with the Careers Manager and other ScreenSkills teams (HETV, Film, and TV Skills). Includes booking venues, posting on line on the ScreenSkills site, recruiting volunteers, sourcing speakers, supervising logistics, and managing budgets.
• Managing ScreenSkills presence at a series of skills shows and events around the UK including booking stands, shaping resources, managing volunteers, risk assessments etc.
• Managing relationships with key partners in consultation with the careers team (e.g. VFX partners)
• Manning stands at events
• Regional research for events and outreach to ensure we have a diverse audience for all our events.
• Responsibility for producing evaluation material in consultation with the team. Collecting and analysing data
• Writing Risk Assessments and Production Schedules for events and responsibility for making sure all event paperwork is completed
• Finding suitable external trainers and speakers for events.
• Communicating effectively with delegates' trainers and partners.
• Ensuring stands, travel couriers and other facilities are booked for events
• Producing event hand-outs and other material in conjunction with the Marcomms team
• Posting events in consultation with Web editor - careers and the Marcomms team

Essential skills and experience and/or qualifications:
Educational experience:
• A-Level, AS Level, Level 3 diploma, Level 3 NVQ

Work related experience:
• 3 - 5 Years - Experienced

Essential:
Knowledge and Experience
• Substantial experience of organising events
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety for events
• Good knowledge of Safeguarding
• Good knowledge of the film and TV industries
• Good knowledge of the Education sector across the UK
• Awareness of diversity targets
• Substantial experience of working with young people

Skills & Training
• Excellent organising and production skills
• Good research skills
• Good inter personal and communication skills
• Ability to keep accurate financial records and track spending against budgets
• Some Event/H&S training would be an advantage

Other:
• Significant travel and overnights may be involved
