We're a passionate video production company based in Bristol. Our work and clients are diverse and include Battersea, The Royal Mint, Bath Ales, the NHS and the University of Winchester.
Thanks to a number of new clients and pipeline projects we're looking to expand our team of 8 and support our Production crew with another full-time Camera Operator.
Working full-time and exclusively in-house (we've never used freelancers and never will, so the saying goes), you'll be working alongside our Production crew and Directors from the get-go, acting as an assistant, second shooter and providing behind-the-scenes coverage.
You'll be involved in the whole production process, helping to develop creative concepts from briefs and seeing them to fruition through both production and post-production.
With both on-the-job and supported training, we'll expect the right person to rise quickly and confidently to be able to act as primary shooter, director and interviewer to help see our projects come to life.
With the vast majority of our shoots being on-location, you'll be travelling the length and breadth of the UK (and further afield) to tell our client's stories.
Person specification
You'll likely be fresh from University or have a couple of year's experience under your belt, probably freelancing or working under your own steam.
More so than experience, we're looking for a creative eye, with a showreel and approach to filmmaking that shows an appreciation of composition and an understanding of storytelling beyond that of simply being a tech-junkie.
Whilst we'll develop your creative, you'll likely have a natural approach to style, composition and visuals that fits naturally and comfortably with our own house style, ensuring consistency in our productions from day one. That said, you'll also be confident enough to impact new clients and projects with your own style, bringing a fresh look and feel to some of our productions.
Knowledge and experience of working as a stills photographer would be beneficial, not only so you can work on some of our photographic projects and help with behind-the-scenes shoots, but because knowledge of photographic rules, lighting, techniques and composition will aid you in matching our house style.
Aside from the creative, you'll be hard-working, outgoing and personable in front of clients and contributors, quick to build a rapport. A lot of our work is observational documentary in style and you'll relish the challenge and be comfortable in an ever-changing environment.
As well as camera experience, a proficiency in editing and Premiere Pro would be highly beneficial to support our in-house post-production team during the edit, to create content cuts and to generally muck in and help to meet deadlines.
As for fixed requirements, you must hold a valid and full UK driving license (and be able and confident in driving vans and other large vehicles), live in Bristol (BS postcode) and be required to have a DBS check.
Benefits
This is an exciting opportunity to learn and work in an incredibly varied, growing and creative environment. You will be vital from the outset and as instrumental to our creative output as you want to be.
You'll be working alongside some talented and creative people, with all our equipment at your fingertips for constant training, practice and self-shooting, including a RED HELIUM 8K. Further and additional training will be provided where required including the Initial Drone Pilot Standard (IDPS). Historically we've been early adopters of 360-degree, 4K, 8K and drone technology and we strive to bring new ways of telling stories to our clients.
You'll also be privy to the company as a whole - our financials are transparent, for example - helping to steer our future, impact who we work with and develop our creative.
When not on shoot you'll be working in a fun and friendly office in the centre of Bristol complete with dartsboard, PS4, ping pong table and leftover wine. We offer flexible holiday, good working hours, remuneration for shoots, numerous after-work drinks and a now-renowned Christmas party (this year we're off to Athens).
