Our Engineering department is looking for a Broadcast Shift Engineers. This position will be based at our office in West Drayton and Chiswick Park, West London and is a full-time position working shifts over weekends and nights.Roles & responsibilitiesAs a Broadcast Shift Engineer you will be required to work closely with other departments to ensure that operational needs are effectively and efficiently met through maintaining, aligning, modifying and updating electronic equipment and systems as required.Your duties will involve carrying out acceptance testing on new and refurbished equipment as directed and ensuring that the performance of such equipment meets stated specifications. You will liaise with other Viasat / MTG departments, contractors and manufacturers as necessary to achieve this.It will be your responsibility to act where appropriate and when required in a supervisory role, or deputise for the line manager as required, as well as write reports on technical or operational matters, and manage projects and installations.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have proven experience of working within the TV/film industry with demonstrable experience in broadcast engineering with in depth knowledge and experience of vision, sound and communications, both analogue and digital, and computer systems as they relate to the broadcast engineering environment. Knowledge of networking technologies and emerging trends in the broadcasting environment, and server infrastructure, is also required.You will have proven project planning and execution skills along with experience in technical evaluation of product.You will have a good knowledge of transmission automation and video server systems.Fluency in English is essential and experience with the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
