Broadcast Engineer

London

We are looking for a Broadcast Engineer to work within our Engineering team to build, support and maintain our broadcast graphics systems installed at IMG Studios in support of Premier League Productions (PLP).

Our services centre around the delivery of broadcast graphics and so the applicant needs to be familiar with the entire range of equipment required to deliver these services. This is typically high-end workstations and real-time graphics engines and the supporting infrastructure which can include control PCs, vision routers, monitors, talkback, KVM systems, camera tracking systems etc.

As much of our services are PC-based, good IT skills are essential, such as installing and updating drivers, imaging systems, building PCs etc as well as fundamental networking skills.

The work schedule will be according to the production schedule so will involve weekends and evenings, so flexibility is essential.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, takes pride in their work, with a sound technical knowledge and a drive to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Build, configure and maintain a variety of broadcast equipment required in the delivery of our services
Provide support throughout the week, including weekends and evenings as rostered
Routine preventative maintenance, repair, assembly and configuration of a range of hardware systems
Involvement in implementation, development and support of AE remote working environments
Key Relationships

Head of Engineering, Engineering Team, IT Manager, Global Assets and Policy Control Manager, Project Managers, Operations Manager and Graphics Operators.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential
- Experience working in live broadcast production environments
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS
- Competent understanding of IT and networking hardware and terminology
- Knowledge of video routers, keyers, sound, talkback, data and monitoring systems
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of Vizrt graphics platform

Desirable
- Knowledge of Zero Density graphics platform
- Ability to solder and terminate various connectors (RJ45, BNC, XLR, etc)
- Knowledge of/interest in sports and/or IT technologies

The ideal candidate must:

Have a keen eye for detail and a strong command of the English language (spelling & grammar)
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be organised, punctual and have an exceptional level of concentration
Be able to handle high pressure situations
Have a Full UK driving licence
Comply with all AE company policies
Be prepared to work on the road as required
At least 18 months experience within a live broadcast environment, preferably sports

Respect the company equipment and report any technical issues or damage to the appropriate team in the office
