Broadcast & Media Systems Operator

Endeavor Streaming is an emerging, disruptive digital media and technologies department within the global Endeavor brand. As part of our continued growth we are looking for people who are interested in joining a new team based at Stockley Park. A desire to learn, embrace technology and acquire new skills are the only qualifications needed although experience in Live transmission/Streaming and NoC would be an asset.

What qualifies you for this role?
* Experience in Live transmission and/or 24/7 Playout environments or similar
* Experience in MCR content acquisition and distribution or similar
* Experience of B2C and B2B Live Streaming at Scale
* Excellent knowledge of Broadcast systems and their supporting networks
* Clear judgement and composure under live fire

Job Description:
The Broadcast and Media Systems Operator sits in the Live Operations dept within Endeavor Streaming and is in the 1st mile of the content delivery engine for the wider business.

Key areas of responsibility:
The Broadcast and Media Systems Operator is responsible for the acquisition, verification and distribution of live video content. The monitoring of mission critical IP broadcast networks and infrastructure. The maintenance, installation and smooth running of the OTT transmission systems.

Who the role reports to:
The Broadcast and Media Systems Operator reports to the Live Operations Manager with an indirect reporting line into the Coordinator.

Key duties role include:
* Clear communication of resource scheduling information
* Use of industry specific software tools and broadcast equipment
* Fault finding and real time problem solving
* Determine when, how and who to escalate issues as required
* Monitoring and maintaining a 24/7 Live acquisition / transmission / broadcast system in line with our Service Level Agreements and other organisational targets.

You have the Required / Desired experience:
* Able to perform basic network configuration tasks and troubleshoot broadcast IT systems
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets/Docs
* Experience and understanding of the rigours of 24/7 live operations and/or live broadcast production
* Experience and understanding of MCR / BOC / Transmision workflows
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Good typing proficiency
* Excellent organisational skills
* Expert Mac and PC proficiency

You have knowledge of:
* How to collect, filter and analyse data regarding service operations to aid problem/incident management
* Identifying service issues and following standard procedure or establishing workarounds on the fly
* Quality standards for service delivery and how to maintain them
* The resources required to deliver live broadcast services, including people, equipment and systems
* The causes and consequences of service failure, and how to respond appropriately
* Business continuity procedure[s]

Location and travel requirements:
The position is located in our broadcast facility in Stockley Park, Uxbridge. UB11 1FE

Remuneration range and benefits available:
34 to 38k Plus Bens. Depending on experience.

Notes:-
* The role is shift based on a 24/4 cover basis
* Due to the nature of this role the flexibility to travel across the UK and abroad is essential, as is a willingness to work flexible and unsociable hours at times, depending on project requirements.
* Manual handling may be required - training will be provided.
