Pivotal for both the agency and the creative department, this is an exciting and foundational role with opportunity to make it your own. Our Filmmaker is not only responsible for the creation and development of film, video and animation content within the agency but is also the owner of the agency's video vision. This role asks for a combination of conceptual idea generation and direction skills alongside practical and technical filmmaking techniques. Collaboration with content, design and client services departments is essential. The Filmmaker will take a director role on all film and video projects, in coordination with the Content Lead and Creative Director. Experience in camera operation and cinematography is essential, as well as proficiency across common NLEs, third party plugins, VFX, and compositing software in post-production. This individual will feel comfortable inspiring and mentoring both junior members of the team and those who are more senior but less familiar with Video and Animation. Agency experience preferable.Responsibilities:* Ownership of the video offering for the agency* Overall direction of all video projects* Support of script development, plan, storyboard, concept film projects* Creation and execution of original video content specific to particular marketing challenges and insight* Selection and editing of audio - voice overs, music and sound effects* Collaboration with copywriters/scriptwriters and designers* Participate in brainstorming sessions to share concepts, perspectives and ideas* Maintain and follow best practices for version control, naming conventions and server discipline* Maintain up-to-date knowledge about latest trends, styles and influences in filmmaking* nsure compliance with brand guidelines, deadlines and design standards* Lead post-production, including editing, motion graphics, animation, colour correction, colour grading, sound design and final renders and optimisation * Collaboration with all relevant agency depts throughout concept, pre-production, production and post-production stages* Own the relationship with external suppliers liaising with Traffic and Resource management* Senior Client and senior internal stakeholder management* The ability to protect the integrity of an idea throughout the life cycle of a campaignQualities* Visionary* Warm, can-do attitude* Positive and proactive approach to workload* Excellent communication skills* Calm under pressure* Supportive and approachable: predisposed to mentorship behaviours* Eye for detail* Have passion for film and storytellingSkills* Minimum of 5 year's experience in a similar role* Expert knowledge of Premiere, and Final Cut Pro* Conceptual thinking* Time and resource management skills* Ability to learn fast and to take and give direction* Multi-tasking* Hand-drawing skills* Eager learnerThe benefitsWe try to treat our staff as well as possible.
