Assistant Technical Supervisor, Post Production

London hybrid

The role of Assistant Technical Supervisor within SPS at Sky is to work closely with the Post Production Technical Supervisor in managing content from acquisition through to delivery on all of SPS's output.

You will be expected to work within a busy Post Production environment and be able to understand and work within the confines of various workflows with meticulous detail. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to deadlines in a professional and sustainable manner whilst ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the department. You will contribute to Technical Workflows, Edit assistants training & day to day workflows for our Sports and Entertainment clients.

What you'll do:
Attend technical meetings, researching, qualifying, and delivering bespoke workflow designs for a range of post projects.
Ability to provide accurate advice on the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for the business & Production.
Maintain an overview of all work and projects being dealt within the department.
Creating and maintaining a comprehensive library of both written and graphical workflows across the full range of platforms within post production.
Produce a range of guides and workflows associated with external productions, communicate with clients, and maintain the integrity of the workflow throughout Post Production
Supervision of the day to day operation of the department.
Advanced First line support to all editing and production staff
Step into team role (Edit assistant duties) when needed to cover absence.
Ensure all equipment and resources used by the department are in full working order.
Manage tier 1, 2 and 3 storage solutions as well as any Cloud Storage.
Log and report support and workflow issues & liaise with other departments to resolve issues.
Train members of the team in current and new workflows and practices.
Provide cover in Supervisor's absence.
What you'll bring:
2 years+ Professional working knowledge of Avid and other Editing Products within a Post Production/ broadcast environment.
In depth working knowledge of Nexis/Interplay/ContentAgent/Adobe Premiere/Baselight and Pro Tools is desirable
High level working knowledge of video standards and codecs
Experience managing multiple HD & SDR workflows.
Effective time management and reporting
Analytical skills enabling the ability to assess client needs and working collaboratively to propose technical and workflow solutions.
Understanding and knowledge of production filming techniques and process including industry wide used cameras and systems.
Possessing good organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
