Assistant Script Editor

Children's Animation and Puppetry is responsible for a wide range of shows across CBBC and CBeebies including Danger Mouse, Go Jetters and Diddy TV. We're looking to appoint an Assistant Script Editor to co-ordinate and provide editorial and administrative support to the Animation and Puppetry development team.

Role Responsibility
As the Assistant Script Editor, you will provide administrative and editorial support to the Animation and Puppetry development team. The role will include managing storyline and script submissions, having editorial input into animation and puppetry development projects, reading and reporting on scripts and books, giving feedback to writers, dealing with enquiries, suggesting writers for projects, booking meetings and writing up notes.

The Ideal Candidate
You should have a thorough awareness of and passion for animation and scripted content, as well as a good knowledge of CBBC and CBeebies output. You will be able act on your own initiative and apply sound editorial judgement. Some previous editorial experience is essential, ideally working directly with writers. You will also have demonstrable experience of reading and reporting on scripts for television, radio, film or theatre at a professional level. Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment is also essential.
