Business overview per Business Area:Coronation Street has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Script Editor to support our Writers, Script Editors and Production Team in ensuring that all of Coronation Street's ?scripts meet the highest standard, both editorially and in production terms. This role entails...Reporting into the Producers and Script Editors, the Assistant Script Editor will work across the entire editorial process, attending story conferences and script meetings. The Assistant Script Editor will read all scripts to ensure the consistent treatment of established characters and continuity within episodes. Key responsibilities:* Be across the entire editorial process.* Read all storylines and scripts throughout editorial stages.* Attend Story Conferences and script meetings.* Work closely with current team of script editors and producers to ensure day-to-day continuity in editorial issues.* Provide cover and assistance for script editors when required. This will include holiday cover, story tracks, emergency amendments and proof reading etc.* When covering other script editors, represent the interests of the writer to the production team. * Provide writers with sufficient information to enable the editorial brief to be met.* In continuity reads, read all scripts to ensure the consistent treatment of established characters and continuity within the episodes.* In line with Senior Script Editor, manage the trial script database.* Manage the first draft cast roster ensuring the correct information is provided to the cast and finance department.* Maintain the numerous databases for the script department. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:Minimum role criteria:* Previous experience as an Assistant Script Editor or a Script Editor on a drama.* Good knowledge of TV drama production processes evidenced by experience in a related role.* Minimum of 6 months working within an editorial team within a drama.* Experience working with databases- amending as well as creating them. * Coronation Street is a 6 Episode, 52-week commission, and may facilitate long and unsocial working hours. * Excellent editorial judgement and attention to detail.
