World Productions have been making critically acclaimed, award-winning drama since 1990. Recent successes include Line of Duty, The Pembrokeshire Murders and Vigil. World Productions Wales was established in Cardiff in 2020, and will be going into production on its first drama series commission in 2023. We are looking for a creative individual with a passion for television to join the team. The Assistant Script Editor / Development Editor will work closely with the Head of Development for Wales to help identify writing talent, develop and champion projects ready for pitching and work editorially with the team to bring those stories to screen. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and demonstrable enthusiasm for television drama. An important part of the role will be administrative - logging submissions and being a point of contact for agents and writers. You will also be required to read pitches, scripts and books, assess their value within the current TV landscape and provide written feedback. A high level of literacy and critical thinking is therefore essential. In production, you will manage negative checks, manage and log editorial policy matters, co-ordinate with the script editor all notes for the writer, do script amendments and work with the script editor to write relevant synopses.The role is Cardiff based.
