Assistant Producers

Salford

BBC Children's Presentation is the unit which produces continuity links for both the CBeebies and CBBC brands and also creates a weekly CBBC review show and CBeebies Bedtime Stories. It works closely with Marketing, Scheduling, Interactive, YouTube and Production (both Indies and In-House) to produce engaging wrap-around content for BBC Children's output. Presentation also works closely with Ericsson for transmission of the channels within its Schedule Planning team. The unit has over 50 staff working across all output and is based in Bridge House, with two permanent studios at Salford Quays.

Saturday Mash-Up is CBBC's live Saturday morning event- supersizing the Presentation offering and exploiting our live position in order to engage and build the audience.

The Assistant Producer (Location VT's) is a crucial part of the Saturday Mash-Up team. The successful candidate will look after two regular VT strands - one self-shot, the other working with a craft crew.

The Assistant Producer (Studio) is a crucial part of the Saturday Mash-Up team. APs will work in studio and occasionally on location - writing entertaining scripts (including both navigational material and comedy sketches), booking high profile guests, producing presenters and guests from the floor, directing insert VT's and planning and running busy edits. They will be responsible for generating a high volume of creative, original ideas on a fast turnaround and seeing them through to production on a weekly basis.

PLEASE NOTE: For both of the studio AP roles the successful applicants will be required to work Tuesday to Saturday from September to January 2019
Role Responsibility

All of these AP roles will work to the Series Producer, demonstrating your passion for entertainment and taking responsibility for researching and delivering distinctive and engaging programme content. This includes involvement at every stage of the production process, taking responsibility for other members of the production team as well as producing and directing content in a creative way which reflects the style of our output.

Studio

To work as an integral part of the Saturday Mash-Up team on the development and production of content for the weekly live show.

Location VTs

To work as an integral part of the Saturday Mash-Up team on the development and production of location VT content for the weekly live show.
The Ideal Candidate

You will have a clear understanding of the needs and profile of the CBBC audience and the ability to translate these into imaginative and compelling ideas, whilst considering the constraints governing suitability of content.

Studio

The ideal candidates will possess strong editorial judgment along with a good knowledge and understanding/experience of working in a studio of the BBC's Editorial Policy and Health and Safety Guidelines.

Location VTs

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of the edit process - running busy self-op and craft edits effectively with careful planning. You'll be able to self-shoot and you'll have c
