Assistant Producer, Premier League Productions

Contract Summary

Reporting into the Senior Producer, the Assistant Producer will assist the production team with the sourcing of relevant stories/features and planning of consequent shoots

Key Accountabilities

To assist and support the Senior Planning Team when dealing with requests and story planning for the department.
Assist production staff with set up of shoots (both domestic and international).
Prepare, plan, research and conduct weekly interviews at Premier League clubs.
Work with picture editors to produce features for international distribution.
Assist the Senior Planning Team to ensure all departments are aware of content plans and treatment for various stories and features.
Assist the Senior Planning Team by liaising with various Premier League teams and the Premier League.
To assist with the production of the Planning Schedule document for the department.
To help source the best stories, while always remaining conscious of the client's wishes and corporate image.
Liaise with various talent booked by PLP or for the various programmes.
To have an understanding of responsible television production and good codes of practice.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge & Experience)

Must have a strong editorial sense and an understanding of what is required to help produce engaging television.
Experience of interviewing sports talent.
Needs to have a broad knowledge of Premier League football and the issues within it.
Ability to work independently as well as within the framework of a team.
Previous experience within a production company
Experience of dealing with Talent (e.g. presenters, commentators, sports stars)
Good editorial judgement.
The ability to remain calm under pressure.
Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills;
Able to work across a number of departments ensuring the needs of all PLP programmes are met.
Self-motivated. Knowledge of broadcast environment and practical work experience within television, preferably on documentaries or live studio programmes.
Full and clean driving license
Experience on a wide range of sports programming, including filming on location, quick turnaround highlights, documentaries, magazine shows, desirable
Experience of working in a busy production office desirable
Use of IPD and IPB desirable
Good contacts within Premier League football desirable
An adaptable approach to work and a willingness to help other parts of the PLP operation, notably output desirable
Experience of self-shooting using a small hand-held camera.Educated to degree level or higher desirable

Working Conditions

This is a fixed term position (until May 2021) , based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge (free on-site parking)
Working hours are on average 40 hours per week
The job will involve occasional weekend work and will require you to regularly travel across the UK to Premier League stadiums & training complexes.
