Assistant Producer

Watchdog provides topical, investigative and journalist consumer stories into The One Show.

We are looking for an AP to play a strategic role in helping influence the future direction of Watchdog to deliver hard-hitting original stories, source contributors, and fact checking information.

Role Responsibility
You'll be required to build relationships with the key consumer experts. Identifying potentially headline grabbing stories about consumer issues.

We need someone who has experience of initiating and delivering creative, ambitious and original programme ideas, and must have experience of delivering popular and hard-hitting journalism.

Are you the right candidate?
A clear understanding of consumer issues, the editorial guidelines surrounding rights of reply and the legal requirements of consumer programme making.
Knowledge of the main organisations who regulate consumer protections -and an ability to engage with them effectively on behalf of the BBC.
Proven knowledge of the BBC's editorial guidelines, H&S policy and archiving systems.
Experience of delivering popular and hard-hitting journalism.
Ability to generate ideas, write proposals, and pitch ideas.
