Assistant Editor

Bermondsey, London (In-office)

We're seeking an Edit Assistant with 2+ years of experience to support our editing team. You'll manage media, prepare projects, assist with offline edits, and leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows. This role is ideal for an organised, tech-savvy individual passionate about storytelling and post-production.

Key Responsibilities

Ingest, transcode, and organise footage on servers, ensuring accurate file management.
Set up projects in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer, syncing audio and creating proxies.
Create EDLs, AAFs, QuickTimes, and review links (e.g., via Frame.io) for broadcast and social media.
Assist editors with rough cuts, social cut-downs, and sourcing sound effects/music.
Working across online editing and delivery of projects with a broad range of deliverables and specs.
Use AI tools (e.g., for transcription, colour correction, or media analysis) to enhance post-production efficiency.
Coordinate with production teams, clients, and post partners to manage workflows and deliverables.
Perform quality checks on footage (frame rates, codecs, resolutions).
Maintain edit suites and project archives, troubleshooting basic technical issues.

Requirements

2+ years in a post-production environment (edit house, post facility, or freelance).
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer; basic knowledge of After Effects or DaVinci Resolve a plus.
Experience using AI tools (e.g., automated editing, transcription, or asset management) and adapting to evolving post-production technologies.
Strong understanding of digital camera formats, codecs, and delivery specs for TikTok, Instagram, and broadcast.
Excellent organisational and communication skills to collaborate with editors, directors, and clients.
Flexible, proactive, and able to handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced studio.
Passion for storytelling and post-production workflows.
Comfortable working in-office in Bermondsey, London.
