The Octagon recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and since being founded in 1967, has become synonymous with bold and quality productions, championing regional voices, inspiring young people, and a down-to-earth warmth. As Artistic Director you will be our artistic leader and work closely with the Chief Executive and the Board to set the vision for the theatre and ensures its ongoing health and success. You will be responsible for all our artistic output - inside the theatre, outside and online. This includes our growing creative engagement programme of education, participation and artist development. We are looking for a proven theatre maker who will continue our reputation for high quality, relevant and engaging theatre. You will be a leader who is exceptionally comfortable working collaboratively, and who is alert to commercial and audience needs. This is an exciting time for the Octagon. We have a major capital project underway to reimagine our building and improve facilities for artists, participants and audiences. You will have the opportunity to make the most of our new building and in doing so, define the next era of the Octagon.
