Kavaleer Productions are looking for an ANIMATION DIRECTOR. The candidate needs to be an experienced Flash user with at least 3 years' professional experience in a directing role on a series. This role is only available to candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin.Permanent Role with 6 months' probation period for successful candidates, starting February 2019The position of Animation Director requires someone with a thorough working knowledge of Flash and experience in a similar directing role on broadcast animation projects, looking to take on a new challenge.- Candidates must be able to work both in a team and on their own in a fast paced and creative environment. The successful candidate must have not only a strong animation artistic flair and solid animation skills, but also must be able to motivate and work with animators in a collaborative and creative environment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail a must.- Work closely with the director to keep to the high standard of animation for broadcast.- Must communicate well and be able to motivate crew with good team management skills.- Responsible for establishing key character animation with the Director and Lead Animators to ensure the high standard of animation is maintained throughout the production.- Review animation passes from the animation teams and write notes and responses to push animation to the desired standard.- Approve character poses, backgrounds, props and scene layouts. Work closely with an external Director to understand the overall storytelling and humour of the show.- Work closely with the animation teams to improve each delivery and in turn reduce retakes as production proceeds.- Active in flagging potential issues to the Director related to animation and proposing solutions. Mentor less experienced artists, providing them with support, guidance and instruction. Providing feedback to team leads on animation work before review by the Director.- Minimum of 3 years' experience in directing 2D animation for long form animation productions.- Must have 2D animation experience.- Clear communication skills.- Must be very detailed oriented and organised. Must be passionate about character animation and acting.- Strong familiarity with Flash/Animate CC.- Possess skills managing a team, effective communication.- Able to take feedback and direction.- Effective time management and ability to work within tight deadlines.
