Documentary Video EditorWe are looking for a creative video editor for the editing of a long form documentary (50 mins) for Redbull.There is also some supplementary content required for which some extra support will be given (teasers, promos, behind the scenes etc)The position will suit a video editor with a lead credit on a documentary looking to work with beautifully shot content in an interesting genre. We require a creative, fast editor, who has the ability to pull stories and narrative from a sea of footage. You'll be equally at home crafting the wider narrative as you will be getting juiced up cutting the music montage sections. The Director and DoP will be around to oversee and assists with much of the edit, and will lend a hand cutting some of the scenes, but make no mistake- you will be the lead editor. We will be cutting on Adobe Premier CC on Apple Mac and you'll be based in our lovely office just off Brick Lane. So what is it?The film is a music based road trip documentary featuring an up and coming band travelling through America, discovering their musical roots.We'll share full treatments with candidates that make it through to the next round of selection. Roles and ResponsibilitiesOrganising rushes from shoots onto various drives, backing up the footage.Maintaining an organised and well structured project.Converting rushes to various formats (Mpeg Streamclips, Compressor, Media Encoder.)Creating rough assemblies from directors scripts.Able to advise and support director, as well as sometimes following the director's vision.Colour correction and sound mix.Exporting and uploading films with timecode stamp. EtcTechnical SkillsAdobe Creative Suite (CC) but primarily Premier. (that said if your an FCP editor, you could learn Premier in a day)Other StuffSomeone who has an active interest in documentary filmmaking and is able to demonstrate this knowledge with a showreel.You will have both technical ability and a keen creative eye, bringing your ideas to the table.Independent, resourceful, creative, organised, with good timekeeping and a conscientious attitude.A good listener who can follow instructions and ask questions when not clear.Able to support the director and help them with their vision, but also strong enough to work alone.High standard of spoken and written English required. You must be capable of checking and finding errors in director scripts. FeeSalary £5,000 buyout for 45 days duration (9 weeks). A note and an apologyWe may be unable to respond to every application.
