This role entails...

In order to support our production over autumn and winter months, Emmerdale has an opportunity for freelance 3rd ADs to work on our prestigious continuing drama. We are looking for freelance 3rd ADs, or competent Runners who would like to develop towards this role.

An added dimension to this role would also be to take on the additional responsibilities of Covid Assistant during our shoots both on location and in the studio. You should already have a credit list of working in the capacity of a Runner or other similar roles in the TV industry and it would be preferable if you'd worked recently on a production so that you are aware of working on-set under Covid restrictions. You would be responsible for ensuring that agreed Production Covid control measures, such social distancing, PPE and movement flows are being safely maintained and observed by everyone.

This selection process is to build our 3rd AD/Covid Assistant talent pools. When an opportunity arises we will offer to our talent pool in the first instance. Contracts will be offered on a freelance, ad hoc basis.

To be considered for these opportunities you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Minimum role criteria:
* Excellent communication skills are essential
* Strong organisational and administration skills.
* You will also be a diplomat - absolute discretion and confidentiality is a requirement of both of these roles.
* The ability to work under pressure, work long and unsociable hours in both a studio and location environment (often during inclement weather conditions)
* Prepared to change your working pattern at short notice
* Proven experience as a runner/similar role in the TV industry

Responsibilities as a 3rd AD:

* Support our 1st AD either in the studio or out on location, as they work their way through a demanding production schedule set against tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills are essential, together with strong organisational and administration skills.

Key Criteria:
* You will be a diplomat - absolute discretion and confidentiality is a requirement
* You will have the ability to work under pressure, work long and unsociable hours in both a studio and location environment (often during inclement weather conditions) and be prepared to change your working pattern at short notice.
* A driving licence is preferable for the 3rd Assistant Director role.
* Please note that manual handling is involved with the 3rd AD role.

Responsibilities as a Covid Assistant:

* Working on-set under Covid restrictions
* You would be responsible for ensuring that agreed Production Covid control measures, such as: social distancing, PPE and movement flows are being safely maintained and observed by everyone.

* Excellent communication skills


Please Note : You would not be required to work as a 3rd AD and a Covid Assistant on the same day.
