WE ARE HIRING - 2D Animation Supervisor needed for children's TV series for Sky



Wild Child Animation is recruiting for an experienced 2D Animation Supervisor to join the team on Sky series The Brilliant World of Tom Gates (written and illustrated by Liz Pichon). This role will be a freelance position with an April/May start. We are happy with remote positions and you'd also be welcome at our studio space in Stirling, Scotland. Please ensure you have appropriate work visas/permits in place if required.



This job is perfect for someone with strong leadership skills who loves working with people as much as animating. You will have experience as a Lead or Supervisor on a Toom Boom Harmony production, ideally in long format children's television. You will be comfortable translating boards into dynamic poses and working to a specific style, and you will have an extensive knowledge of 2D animation techniques. In addition to managing your team you will also manage a workload of your own shots.



What you'll do -



Supervise the creative and technical direction of the 2D animation team. Experience with Toon Boom Harmony is essential.
Work closely with directors to ensure feedback and notes are communicated to Leads and Animators and that individuals are comfortable meeting the requirements of the style
Provide feedback on, and develop where required, creative materials including but not limited to scripts, animatics, concept work, rigs, master set ups, colour scripts
Work closely with Leads and artist teams to ensure that allocated work is balanced across the strengths of team members
Liaise with Production team members and Heads of Departments to provide accurate bids
Ensure Leads are maintaining a working knowledge of the schedule and that deliverables are being met
Troubleshoot creative and scope questions with Heads of Department, Production, Directors and Artists
Develop technical processes including department processes and pipeline, in conjunction with HoDs, Leads and Seniors
Attend and engage in client calls to help advice on maintaining creative benchmarks and solving technical challenges as required
Undertake adhoc duties including but not limited to business-wise training, creating marketing materials, interviewing upcoming candidates, feeding back development projects, attending creative and technical strategy meetings, meeting with potential clients and business partners
