About Tweedy's Massive Circus
Underbelly is delighted to present Tweedy's Massive Circus, a brand new show from the world-famous Tweedy, presented in a 300 seat circus tent touring across the UK for 14 weeks.

Join Tweedy for his very own MASSIVE circus. Well kind of. Unfortunately the tent has shrunk and Tweedy hasn't a clue. Expect a show filled with magic, mirth and mayhem! Join Tweedy and his friends in their very own 'little' big top this summer, what could possibly go wrong?

You will be working under the instructions of the Company, the Underbelly Producers and the Underbelly Production Manager. This role is a key member of the production team and is responsible for all technical aspects on-site.

About the Role
The Touring Technician is a vital member of the venue team, managing all technical aspects of the show.

You should be a real people-person whilst also having the ability to manage and lead all technical aspects of a site and the organisation that it requires to tour technical equipment to several locations around the UK.

Touring Technician Responsibilities


Site Build

Managing the technical aspects of the get, getting power to the venue and installing lighting and sound equipment.
Making any necessary adaptions to the technical setup in each location, leaning on the creative opinions of the company.


Daily Duties

Operating the live show.
Running all sound and lighting checks before each show.
Managing any maintenance required to technical equipment.


Site Strike

Managing the the technical aspects of the get, getting power to the venue and installing lighting and sound equipment.
Making sure all technical equipment is packed onto the touring transport in an appropriate fashion in order to efficiently allow the get-in at the next location.
Job Requirements and Experience


Ideal Experience

Proven technical theatre background, with touring experience an advantage.
Good working knowledge of health and safety in an events environment.
Ability to create a positive work atmosphere.
Excellent team work skills.
Confident with power/hand tools (own tools preferable).
Crew Requirements

Enjoy working with a team.
Aptitude for learning.
Outstanding organisational skills.
Diligence and attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanour.
Ability to perform under stress.
Excellent multitasking ability.
Desirable Experience

Driving licence & own vehicle.
Dates and Pay Details
Dates of Engagement

Rehearsal period: 30th April - 19th May 2024

Tour Dates: 20th May - 28th July 2024

Pay Details

Freelance contract:

£750/week (£647/week + holiday pay) based on a 6 day week.

In additon to the above, £120 per diems per week

Accomodation provided at each location.
