Job Description

A leading TV documentary production company seeks a Technical Assistant to work in the busy Facilities Department.

The wide ranging technical role will involve supporting six offline edit suites, carrying out tasks such as digitising, playouts to tape, maintaining a tape library, tape dubbing, basic editing, maintaining camera kit as well as liaising with production staff to effectively prioritise tasks.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:
• At least one year of experience in a similar role
• Advanced user knowledge of Avid editing systems on a Unity network
• First line technical support for Avid systems
• Considerable knowledge of both SD and HD videotape operation
• Experience of post-production workflows, both HD and tapeless
• A proactive attitude and willingness to work hard
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly in a busy workplace
• Good knowledge of HD camera equipment
• A hunger to learn new technology, especially stereoscopic workflows
• Good general IT support skills
• A full, clean driving license

Would suit someone with experience in a post-production environment looking for a more challenging role.
