The Role

(See below) is seeking a highly experienced Final Cut Pro editor with a strong technical background to work within our busy post production department. As a senior online editor there is a strong emphasis on the technical side of the role. The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of the Apple Final Cut Studio platform, and well as other industry standard post production platforms and how they integrate with Final Cut Studio.

Primary editing duties will be the finishing of broadcast commercials for both the U.K. and international markets and insuring that all material meets broadcast legal and technical standards. Whilst being foremost an FCP editor, a senior online editor must have a broad understanding and be experienced in a number of post production processes including VFX, colour correction, motion graphics and sound editing.

A senior online editor must posses a high level of communication skills. They must perform well in client attended sessions and be able to support and advise producers on timings and processes to maintain an efficient and cost effective service to the client.

With an excellent understanding of modern broadcast digital formats the senior online editor will work closely with members of the post production department to help develop systems workflows at (see below).

Requirements

A clear understanding of the meaning of customer care/service. A good working knowledge of post production processes and services. At least 5 years experience working in the post production industry Excellent interpersonal skills. Good conceptualisation skills. General "can-do" service attitude. Excellent time management skills & multi-tasking abilities. Have a complete understanding of various software package to achieve a high quality result. Excellent communication skills Attention to detail Well presented and polite Able to adapt to new working methods & practice technology advances Good working knowledge of Mac OSX & Farmers Wife Experience with Final Cut Server would be an advantage Be able to work independently as well as part a team Form good working relationships with post producers and operators Positive attitude towards problem solving and tight deadlines.
