BBC Languages inspires and supports UK adults to take their first steps in language learning. Our innovative and award-winning online content includes the BAFTA winning Mi Vida Loca for Spanish learners and La Mappa Misteriosa, an Italian learning adventure for beginners. We are looking for a Researcher with a passion for language learning, exceptional web literacy, experience of technologies such as HTML, capturing and streaming audio and video and Photoshop basics to help us produce excellent content. Written and spoken fluency in at least one language other than English is an essential. French or German will be prioritised.BBC Learning seeks to connect, create and magnify powerful opportunities for learning across the entire BBC to inspire all audiences. RequirementsAbility to speak fluently and accurately in at least one European language other than English is essential; knowledge of other core languages is an advantage. An understanding of the principles of language acquisition and awareness of the learning needs of language learners, particularly adult independent learners. An interest in or knowledge of the formal education sector for 5-19 year olds. Some experience of interactive production and delivery. Exceptional web literacy and an understanding of search engine optimisation principles and practice. Working knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: HTML, Flash basics, capturing and streaming audio and video, and Photoshop skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of BBC Learning's different audiences and their learning needs. Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and good time management and organisational skills. An understanding of BBC editorial guidelines and other compliance policies. For some roles, familiarity with media file formats, transcoding and non-linear editing software such as Final Cut Pro.
