Production Researcher

London, Waterloo

The new Creative and Digital team will drive the creative direction in Breakthrough, here in the UK and internationally, and you will be a key part of shaping this moving forward. Exploiting the power of storytelling through outstanding and compelling creative content that creates a deep connection for audiences will be key to us achieving social change, as we adapt and enhance our creative work to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving communications environment.

About your role
As one of our Production Researchers you will work closely with the PDs and Assistant Producers throughout the production process to support the delivery of a number of short form styles for a range of digital platforms; from observational documentaries to presenter-led, studio shoots to promo videos, as well as interviews. You'll work collaboratively across teams to understand project objectives and provide the administrative and organisational support required to ensure effective delivery.

You'll originate or develop ideas, drawing on your understanding of the project objectives and following briefing from Producer Directors, and also be responsible for identifying relevant and suitable information, contributors, locations and other material, ensuring all legal, compliance and copyright requirements are met.

Key responsibilities for this role
• Working collaboratively with teams across the agency to understand client requirements and project objectives.
• Supporting the production of short films, mini documentaries and promo videos, from inception to completion.
• Working under the supervision of the Producer Director or Assistant Producer to compile treatments, questions and stories across a reactive and fast-moving slate of documentaries, short films and YouTube videos, ensuring they deliver on the objectives of the project.
• Producing engaging research on which to base treatments and stories.
• Deal with contributors, researching their information and stories online or carrying out preliminary phone interviews to assess suitability and availability.
• Work closely with the production coordinator to organise suitable shoot locations.
• Assist with the setting up of shoots as required, working under the direction of the Producer Director or Assistant Producer.
