This is a unique opportunity for someone with excellent production experience to step in at the very start of a brand new radio station, and develop the schedules, programmes and the production team.
The role of the Programme Controller will be to bring about production of six hours of quality programming per day. They will have responsibility for a mixture of live show and pre-recorded material. They will work with partners to generate quality pre-recorded shows and have overall responsibility for the daily live show.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the subject, be full of ideas and have a real ability to multi-task and make big things happen. A "can-do" all-rounder who can get involved in all aspects of a start-up station and be innovative and inventive in their approach.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• To shape the schedule for (see below) and form and recruit the (small) production team
• To develop exciting engaging programmes cost effectively
• To manage all production aspects of a daily live show including managing guests, experts etc. plus manage and develop all of the pre-recorded programmes with multiple partners and stakeholders
• Work to strict timings and small budgets
• Manage any legal and editorial issues
