Producer

London

Are you a producer or journalist who thrives on the buzz of working within a live news environment? Do you have an abundance of ideas for fantastic programme content? Are you eager to help make ITV's first edition the very best it can be?

If the answer is yes, we have an unmissable opportunity to join our team at Good Morning Britain. As the UK's most talked about breakfast show we provide a broad mix of content across news, current affairs and entertainment. We know that the three million people who tune in every morning want to start their day feeling informed and entertained - that's our job.

As an Output Producer you will be at the very heart of the team who put together the first rate content that makes our programme each day. Working closely with our Assistant Editors and News Editors, you will suggest story ideas, come up with creative treatments, write scripts, commission graphics and edit VTs.

As an established journalist, you will have experience of working within a television newsroom, with a proven track record of dealing with breaking news and developing stories to take them to air. You will have a background in television production and experience of picture editing and script writing. You will be passionate about television, and have a good knowledge of current affairs, entertainment and the issues that matter to our viewers. You will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have a demonstrable working knowledge of broadcast law and Ofcom regulations. You will also be able to demonstrate that you can get the best out of contributors, presenters and correspondents.

The role involves working both day and night shifts, some early mornings, weekends and bank holidays, but comes with generous leave allowance and plenty of time off shift. You will also be required to fulfil the Text Producer role on rotation, so perfect spelling, grammar and attention to detail is essential.

So, if you thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same and you have the journalistic skills that will help us achieve our goals, we'd love to hear from you. Please send a short and captivating covering letter and a snappy CV.
