At a significant time for UK radio, we are looking for a brilliant producer to join us, working on a range of programmes across the week. In the past few months, Classic FM has launched the new Classic FM Breakfast with Dan Walker, as well as some exciting changes across the programme schedule, featuring some of the country's biggest broadcasting names. Classic FM is one of the world's largest classical music brands and the UK's most popular classical music station. It's fair to say we always aim high and achieve great things, and we'd love you to apply if you think you can help take Classic FM to the next level!3 best things about the jobYou will play a key role in producing engaging content for one of the country's best-loved radio brandsYou will be working with some of the country's best known broadcastersYou will have the support of a great team around you, as we seek to take Classic FM forward togetherMeasures of success - In the first few months, you would have:Effectively produced a variety of programmesBuilt great positive relationships with presenters and the production team, as well as with key people in the wider team at GlobalPrepared Classic FM programmes for broadcast with support from those around youBroadened your knowledge of classical music, if requiredShown you know what you're doing with Classic FM's playout system (Zetta)Developed a critical ear for the programmes you work on, and you're always on the look out for ways to improve themDiscovered how Classic FM uses GSelector to support its programmesCome up with ideas and worked with presenters to grow Classic FM's social media channelsShown knowledge of Global Player and how it works seamlessly with on-air output.Responsibilities of the roleProducing live radio programmes to an excellent standardPreparing engaging content for programmes and coming up with brilliant ideas that help take Classic FM to the next levelLeading and directing recording sessions with presentersEditing recording sessions, effectively balancing timings, and loading them into Classic FM's playout systemTaking an active part in team meetings and coming forward with suggestions for the station outside of the programmes you work onWhat you will needThe ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:Producing relevant radio programming presented by high-profile names, with clearly transferable skills that can be applied to Classic FMDemonstrating an understanding of the range of music played on Classic FM and, ideally, the ability to schedule music using GSelector or equivalent softwareUsing Adobe Audition, or similar editing software, and the ability to lead and direct recording sessionsDriving a mixing desk and using a radio studio to effectively produce both pre-recorded and live outputPreparing programmes and demonstrate knowledge of writing for radio.
