JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our World Feed MCR based in Bangor, Northern Ireland. You will need to be able to work in a challenging environment producing concurrent world feeds for major global broadcasters. This is a multi-skilled role requiring the successful candidate to work right across the whole workflow from signal acquisition to playout. We are an extremely busy 24/7 operation so the ideal candidate will have to show an ability to work in a dynamic, live environment. Our schedules follow major global sport calendars, so this position includes nights, weekends and public holidays on a shift basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Signal acquisition of satellite & IP contribution content across both local and remote ingest hubs
• Efficient operation of all associated technical kit
• QC of all incoming content for audio, video and graphic faults
• Audio mixing and commentator cueing
• Providing a high quality experience between matches as instructed
• Ensure live content is ready to playout at scheduled times
• Proactively communicating with clients in a concise and controlled manner
• Communicating with onsite technical and production teams
• Offering 1st line support but with the ability to talk on a technical level
• Escalate faults, troubleshoot and follow up with 3rd parties and onsite partners in a timely fashion
• Ensure daily reporting is accurate and detailed to allow for effective incident managing

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Successful % events delivered versus Booking / event schedules
• Accurate, detailed and timely reporting of incidents as per process
• Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution
• 1st class client support and communication
• Work within all internal processes, procedures and workflows

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:
• 3 years minimum experience in a MCR / Live transmission environment
• Strong QC Skills within a relevant environment
• Understanding and ability to use GFX technology
• Experience and knowledge of audio mixing
• Good knowledge of Multi-format video and audio theory
• Experience in use of broadcast equipment such as, SA, IRDs, AV / RF routers etc.
• Rock solid desktop applications knowledge
• Proven experience of creating a client focused service to broadcasters

Desirable:

• Knowledge of satellite delivery, decrypting and decoding
• Working knowledge of IP video workflows
• Prior experience working within a live sports environment
• Experience working within a post-production environment
• Understanding of Digital media, IPTV, encoding, distribution and playback technologies
• Knowledge of video contribution circuits
• Experience or sound knowledge of IP networks
