The Live Programming Operator is responsible for following agreed procedures, meeting client expectations, and ensuring that the programming requirements are adhered to during live broadcasts.The role involves providing direction to Ingest and Live Operators about programming needs and emergency protocol for individual live broadcasts.The Live Programming Operator is the main point of contact during a live broadcast for Production, and provides information and guidance, including emergency protocols.The Live Programming Operator is also responsible for ensuring broadcasts are recorded, when necessary, and processing the recording accordingly for any intended rerun/use of material. They are also to provide support to the Supervisor, as required by business needs.Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities: Update live broadcast booking for live events. Execute correct procedure for the live broadcast in cooperation with Ingest Operators, Live Technical Operators, and Engineering. Instruct Ingest and Live Technical Operators in programming requirements, including emergency procedures. Liaise with Ingest Operators, Live Technical Operators, and Engineering, as well as Production during a live broadcast. Fulfil external client requirements, such as live odds commercial play-out. Update What's On system during live broadcast and make required adjustments to maintain schedule. Ensure compliance with regulatory body is maintained and report any discrepancies to relevant parties. Control and process recordings of live broadcast. Report issues for follow-up and also provide any external reports required for the event. Maintain a high level of reliability on live broadcasts and continuously keep skills honed and up to date with business needs. Assist Supervisor in additional duties, as and when required.Requirements: At least 2 years' experience working in a live broadcast environment, preferably with play-out experience. A working knowledge of Ofcom Well-developed communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Good IT skills and What's On experience or experience of a similar scheduling system. Ability to work well under pressure Flexibility and adaptability to different demands Excellent decision making skills Strong team player An interest in sports is beneficial
