*12 month internship starting 1st July*Department OverviewThe International Ad Sales department are tasked with optimising and driving revenue through Ad Sales and Brand Partnership deals across Europe and often Globally across Discovery's entire portfolio. We work closely with every other department in the business including Scheduling, Marketing, Research, Creative, Programming and Digital. We connect and communicate with top Multinational advertisers via direct relationships but primarily through their media agencies. We are directly involved in deals responsible for around $20m dollars a year.Overall Purpose of the RoleThe key objective of this role will be to support the Head of Ad Sales and two Managers in delivering Spot and sponsorship revenue, branded content and integrated marketing solutions via partnerships with leading Multinational brands. They will help to identify and research proactive approaches whilst also responding to incoming briefs. This involves interpreting the brief, brainstorming ideas, gathering supporting information, and creating engaging and persuasive responses. They will also support the team in the day-to-day account management of live deals. The intern will get the opportunity to be involved in external meetings, presentations and events.Key ResponsibilitiesThe percentage will change on a day-to-day basis, no day is the same and some days will be spend entirely responding to new briefs whilst others will be primarily project management. A rough estimate would be: 50% Account Management 30% Responding to incoming briefs 20% ProactivityDesirable SkillsTo have completed the first 2 years of a relevant degree such as Media, Marketing, Psychology.We will also consider undergraduates who demonstrate a genuine interest in Advertising and an Inquisitive, Enthusiastic and Creative attitude.Good communication skills and meticulous attention to detailGood level of numeracyDesired study subjects may include but are not limited to: Media, Marketing, Psychology
