Reporting to the Creative Media Director & Deputy Chief Executive your role will be to oversee and manage our award winning productions unit, ensure effective distribution of content and develop new business from a range of clients. Responsibilities will include:Managing, delivering and having editorial oversight of all content producedManaging production budgets and meeting income targets Writing pitches, tenders, proposals and generating new business in content production across the third sector, public sector and private sector ensuring that agreed targets for production sales/fees are met Supervision and recruitment of freelancers Managing a team of seven full time staff members Writing and submitting quarterly reports and liaising with a variety of funders, partners and clients Working closely with the marketing and PR teams to market our production services Ensuring, where relevant, that content fits in with the editorial vision for the Community Channel Maximising distribution opportunities for content generated internally and externally Ensuring all rights, compliance issues etc are cleared for television, web and other platforms in advance of production, and that content is produced in a range of formats Liaison with commissioning editors (TV and Radio), print and online editors, CSR managers, and other decision makers in television, radio, print, online and mobile media, to research and identify opportunities Overseeing our Volunteer Filmmaking scheme for small charities Ensuring the organisation and smooth running of the team Person Specification Our ideal candidate will meet the following person specification: Experience in running and driving a successful production unit, including experience of executive production of high quality video and television content Excellent people management and supervision skills Proven experience of and ability to prepare and manage multiple budgets and productions A track record of income generation, winning business and generating funding Experience of building successful strategic relationships Expert knowledge of rights for distribution Good contacts across all media Ability to work to deadlines without compromising output, quality, professionalism or the (see below)'s reputation Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, alongside attention to detail, analysis and focus Experience and knowledge of distributing content a plus (See below) is a tightly resourced organisation. All employees are therefore expected to show flexibility in their work. You will be required to work closely with all members of the organisation on inter-relating projects and cross-departmental schemes.
