Front of House Manager

The New Theatre, Oxford is a busy house with a full yearly programme with everything from Bodyguard to Blue gracing our stage each year. The venue has been earmarked for some key development opportunities, including a new Piano Bar and has real potential to continue the growth the venue has already started to experience. Within such a busy operation, the role of Front of House Manager is crucial to the continued success of the venue. We are therefore looking for a target driven, fully focused and dynamic individual to develop, manage and confidently lead the FOH operation at this busy venue

Main Purpose: To take full responsibility for the Front of House operation within this very busy venue.
To ensure the highest levels of service for customers, clients & visiting company are delivered at all times whilst maximising sales, profits and achieving key performance indicators for the venue.
To recruit, train, develop & performance manage the FOH Management and Operations team to ensure that the venue continually achieves all of its FOH targets, goals and expectations.
To manage the operation ensuing that is it maintained and presented to the highest standard and fully complies with health, safety, licensing and hygiene rules & regulations at all times
As a Personal Licence holder, along with the Deputy, duty manage the majority of shows in the venue

Key Responsibilities: To manage the FOH operation ensuring that a cost effective and customer focussed range of services is consistently provided to the highest standards.
To deliver a fantastic welcome to our customers, ensuring their experience is enjoyable and memorable in keeping with ATG's core values.
To maximise sales and ensure that all FOH Key Performance Indicators are achieved which includes but is not limited to Spend Per head, Mystery Shopper Reports, Payroll Management and Stock Control
To manage the FOH staffing levels ensuring that all sales targets can be achieved with controlled payroll costs.
Proactively contribute to the venues profitability by initiating ideas, systems and projects which will maximise sales and minimise costs/losses.
To ensure a constant review of systems and service is carried out so that the operation can be flexed accordingly to help achieve greater profits.
To take responsibility for the control of stock within the venue, ensuring targets & KPI's are achieved at all times and managing the cellarman to play a key part in this.
Recruit, manage and motivate direct reports, monitoring and appraising their performance and ensuring that they are appropriately trained and developed.
Ensure that the FOH team are proactively performance managed and are developed through the ATG Be a Star program, to achieve the best customer service possible.
Ensure that all banking and paperwork has been completed accurately for each performance ensuring that the cash handling policies are adhered to at all times
Enthusiastically promote ATG's vision and values and lead by example in all areas of responsibility.
As a HOD, to work alongside other departments to ensure effective communication and support.
As a Personal Licence & Key holder, carry out the effective duty management of shows, taking responsibility for the overall running of the operation in accordance with Health, Safety & Licensing Regulations as well as internal Company expectations.
Assist in the preparation of departmental, administrative and financial returns as necessary. Ensure that all Company policies, including Health & Safety & Licensing are adhered to and recommend appropriate actions, where necessary.

The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria: An experienced manager who has been responsible for the management & development of a large team in a retail, sales or leisure environment
An established leader who gets the best of their direct reports whilst maintaining exceptional motivation through a creative and innovative approach
Ability to maximise sales and consistently achieve targets
Excellent time Management Skills
Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills
Experience of cash handling and stock control
Proven experience of working to targets' and budgets and associated reporting
Have flexible approach to working hours, available for evening and weekend work.
Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
Personal Licence and First Aid certificate are desirable, but training will be made available with the expectancy of completion by the successful candidate.
