CG/IT Systems Manager

One of London's leading creative studios has a unique opening for a versatile and talented CG/IT Systems manager. This firm really is at the cutting edge of all things digital and in currently undergoing a major infrastructure upgrade, including the installation of twin 48TB secure disc storage systems.
With 20+ users on the system, you'll be responsible for the administration of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS implemented on a Windows Server 2008.
The ideal candidate will also be responsible for backup and archive with a 24-slot LT05 tape library and HP 2910G and 2510G network switches.
Additionally, the system comprises a RAID storage system, provided by mirrored pair of 24 disk NAS devices running Open-E and SMB.
Part of the work also involves maintaining the render farm - multi-device, multi-processor 6 core Intel 3870 processor arrays. Easy and a swift retrieval of archived assets will be part of this maintenance.
As with all roles of this nature, KPI's include ensuring minimum downtime in case of failure of system or multiple devices and development of failover solutions where appropriate.
Other aspects of the role include deployment of graphics software to 40+ hosts and 20+ users, documentation of all information required to run the system, central management of software installation and new releases with multiple versions, developing relationships with suppliers of hardware, software and specialist subcontractors providing sys admin and systems analysis.
Familiarity with Maya, Photoshop and any other software would be highly advantageous.
