About Timothy Boydell

Director of Photography based in Newquay, Cornwall, working across Cornwall, Devon, the South West and the UK, and abroad. I've been filming since 2010 and have shot in over 30 countries.

Commercials and documentary: DOP and Director/DP for Ferrari, Nissan, Mazda, TUI, M&S and Red Bull. Cinematographer on The Oldham Man and the Sea, winner of Best Feature Documentary at Manchester Film Festival 2026.

Specialist units: Through my company, Light Colour Sound Ltd, I bring my own CAA-authorised drones (Inspire 3, Alta X), water housings for in-water and surf filming, tracking vehicles and Ronin 2 / Ronin 4D gimbals. One booking covers the main-unit look and the specialist shots.

Local crew for productions shooting in Cornwall and Devon, with no travel or accommodation costs. Calm, safe hands on set, and happy to travel.
