About Simon Deeley

I'm primarily a drama doc Producer Director. Adept in writing in writing dramatic factual scripts and making films for channels such as Discovery ID, Nat Geo, CBS Reality and most recently Netflix.

I'm particularly creative in directing drama shoots with limited resources and at the same time pulling off ambitious cinematic sequences using simple but effective special FX.

I'm particularly creative in directing drama shoots with limited resources and at the same time pulling off ambitious cinematic sequences using simple but effective special FX.

I have taken all drama docs through edit as well as a specialist factual film (Argentina in Therapy) I wrote and produced for several international broadcasters.

I've made several films about sensitive subjects, including sexual abuse, mental health and torture. One of my key strengths is being able to draw out great synch from anxious contributors or prickly experts.

I am an experienced camera operator, recently shooting on ITV's new 4 part true crime series: The Investigator : A British Crime Story. I have also self-shot interviews and drama recon for several high-end BBC series (Biblehunters & The East India Company) as well as the Smithsonian Channel, Yesterday and Discovery.

I'm particularly passionate about History, Religion, Current Affaires, Crime and Social Interest/Impact filmmaking.

LANGUAGES: Good SPANISH and workable FRENCH on location.
VISAS: I have a current iVisa.
