Sarvenaz Keyhani

I am a script writer and an independent Section 12 Doctor working in London, currently studying for MA in Screenwriting. I am currently writing a TV series about the Greek mythology in a modern setting.

I came to the UK in 2003, passed PLAB exam, did clinical attachment in medicine and surgery in Salisbury, then did psychiatry training for 3 years and worked later as a specialty doctor in General Adult Psychiatry.

I love literature, theatre and film and am an avid reader and very familiar with English, American, Latin American, Italian, German, Russian and French literature both contemporary and from previous decades and centuries. My favourite TV and film genres are fantasy, supernatural thriller and horror, but I like Drama very much as well both contemporary and period Dramas. I like very much to write for TV series where one can develop the characters and their stories better and also comment on various socio-political issues.

I am also a painter and has an exhibition of my paintings in Tehran in 2000 for a week. My favourite school of painting is Expressionism and Realism and my favourite painters are Goya and Schiele. Two of my paintings have been published in British Journal of Psychiatry- Apr 2011 edition (in Psychiatry in pictures section) and Jan 2014 as the front cover. Three of my paintings- a triptych 'Fairy Tales, Halloween, Hell' is going to be exhibited at the RCPsych International Congress at Excel London from 01/07/19 to 04/07/19- duration of the congress along few other paintings by other artists from the RCPsych.
